Happy Halloween

Hope everyone had a great Halloween.  We did, busy all day.

The kids had pumpkin & ghost shaped pancakes for breakfast, decorated sugar cookies, and for dinner we had sloppy joes with Jack o lantern cheese on them at Keira's request.  I made the dip for the chips orange and made my Frankenstine cake.  Sean's parents came over for dinner and trick or treating.

 

 

 

 
 
 

 

 

 

Both of the kids did really good.  Cooper held his bucket and it was getting heavy, so I tried to take it so I could pour some of the candy out, bad idea.  He was pissed.  Kept yelling "MINE" at me really loudly.  So funny.  

When we got home the kids went through their stash, picked some pieces and left the rest outside for the "Halloween Witch" to come and get.  She left them each a Halloween book, movie & a small toy.  Keira got a vampire Kelly doll and Cooper got a truck.

Long Weekend Up North

Northern Michigan that is.  We went to stay at the inlaws place with them this weekend.  They share it with one of Sean's uncles, its out in the woods, really nice, quiet, well, as quiet as you can expect with 2 kids.  It was a nice trip, the only bad thing was Keira was sick on Saturday and my mother-in-law also was sick, so it could have turned out better.  I was totally stressed on Saturday, with all this swine flu crap going around, Keira was running a fever, so I was so worried, but she's better now, just a little stuffy.

I did get some pictures, I shot in Raw for the first time this weekend, I can't wait for my teacher to explain more about it tomorrow at school.

Panning Homework

I've been working on this for a week or so, trying to get Keira to run for me, used passing cars, had Sean run for me and I finally got it to work today at the Clinton Fall Festival.  I'm so happy!!  If you don't know what panning is its when

 the panning technique is used to suggest fast motion, and bring out foreground from background. In photographic pictures it is usually noted by a foreground subject in action appearing still (i.e. a runner frozen in mid-stride) while the background is streaked and/or skewed in the apparently opposite direction of the subject's travel

 

If you click on the picture it looks better. 

Where we live

I thought I'd share a couple pictures of where we are living at.  Keep in mind, its not much and its free. 

 

This is the little house we're staying at right now.  It is Sean's grandpa's.  He lived here and raised his kids here, so its an old how.  Its small, but it has 3 bedrooms, that's something we never had in 10 years in the Air Force, so the kids have their own rooms.  We still have tons of things boxed up, Cooper has tons of boxes still in his room, but its working out for now.  We're going to wait at least 6 months before house hunting, maybe longer until Sean finishes school. 

This house has a huge yard, the backyard is really big and backs up to a field, and this is my view out our front door.

 

Corn for as far as you can see and a dirt road.  Now for someone that grew up around water, not crops I find it to be very strange how these are actual farms here.  And, when we first got here the corn did make me a little nervous, you don't know whats in it.  But, I'm getting use to it now. 

I've also been busy scrapbooking, did a lot of pages yesterday, today I have to work on my homework like a good girl.

 

 

 

I need to get in the swing of things

I really need to get all of my boxes unpacked so that I can start to get a schedule established around here.  Right now, I've got dirty clothes just kind of all over, clean clothes still in suitcases, boxes everywhere.  I need to set up my cheap little desk I bought so I don't have to keep using the kitchen table.  I need to set up a homework schedule for me, house cleaning schedule. 

Sounds like I need to do lots of things, but with the house so disorganized, I don't want to do much, Sean is rarely home because of work and school.  I've gone through the boxes I can without him here. 

Anyhow, enough of that rambling.

They played with them for a while, more like boats that houses, but whatever keeps them busy, right?

I got a little scrapping done yesterday too.

 

 

 

Julianne Hough & Chuck Wicks

You know, the super cute country singing couple from Dancing with the Stars, well we met them today at the Lenawee County Fair.  How freakin' cool is that.

They were totally sweet, took pictures with us, Chuck probably would have hung out with Keira if we had let her run off with him.

It was so cute, I was trying to take a picture of Julianne and Sean together and Cooper took off running, so Chuck grabbed him for us.  So cool, needless to say they have two huge fans now.

 

 

Busy Weekend

On Friday an old friend of mine and Sean's stopped by on her way to Ohio.  I hadn't seen Vanessa is 7 years, we met in Tech School way back in 1999, and were stationed together in Japan as well as our training.  She was probably my best friend in Japan, so it was really awesome to see her.

It was like we hadn't been apart at all. We had a great time and I'm hoping to see her again while she's in Ohio, before she heads off to Korea for 3 years.

We went to dinner and to see the Ugly Truth.

So funny, then again I love a good chick flick.

This is me and Vanessa.  I spent the night with her and we just talked and drank and had a good time.

Then on Saturday we had a family reunion to go to, it was fun, didn't really know anyone, but Keira had a great time swimming and there was good food.  I'm always up for good food.  LOL!

Then on Sunday was my Sister-In-Law's Bridal shower.

I think it turned out really nice and Jessi got a lot of great stuff.
