Happy Valentine's Day

I hope everyone had a nice Valentine's Day, I sure did, actually a really great weekend.  Friday I came home from school to find Flowers, chocolates, bubble bath, shower gel, bath salts and a teddy bear, all from Sean.  Isn't he sweet!  Then on Saturday the inlaws watched the kids while we had dinner at home, Sean cooked for me and I made fondue for dessert.  Then we went out to see Valentine's Day.

Oh, it was so good!  Great cast, I love pretty much everyone that was in it.  Topher Grace was great, I really miss him.  We are big fans of That 70's Show.  It was a great date movie.  Love how the intertwine all the storylines together.  Its on my "BUY" list for sure when it comes out. 

And today, we went to church, then signed Keira up for T-ball and had lunch out.  Then Keira and I made our traditional Valentine's Day cupcakes.  After that we went to Doug and Pat's for tacos and we played Apples to Apples with Doug, Pat, Jessi and Scotland.  So, it was a nice weekend.

In other news, I set up a fanpage on Facebook, not that my photography biz is up and running yet, but I'm hoping by the summer I might be up and running or at least portfolio building, so if you want to become a fan its http://www.facebook.com/vanessaarmstrongphotography

Sean and I went out to lunch and a movie today.  We saw When in Rome. 

I love Josh Duhamel, I liked him back when he was on All My Children, back when I watch soaps.  And I think Kristen Bell is cute as she can be.  IT was really funny, great supporting cast.  Sean loved it.  Its a good date movie. 

 
  

Sherlock Holmes

I almost forgot, in my quick post earlier, Sherlock Holmes was really good.  Robert Downey Jr. is awesome, would not have been the same movie with out him.  I've always loved him, one of my favorite actors.  He is just so funny!  Jude Law, also great, I loved their relationship.  The way they break things down in the movie reminded me a lot of Ocean's Eleven, but it was just really awesome.  Can't explain it.  And the fight scenes, awesome!

The babysitters went well, Keira liked them and they said they'd totally be up for watching the kids again.  Cooper he wasn't into them, kind of scared, he's not much on strangers, he just kept his little head on my shoulder.  Poor Baby, I put him to bed before we left, so they didn't have to worry about him.  I'm glad we have some girls close by that we can depend on and that we like, so if the 6 of us ever want to go out again without the kids we can. 

 

Alvin and the Chipmunks 2

We went to see this today, with the kids and my inlaws.  I saw about half of it.  Sean and I left with Cooper because he was being a little brat.  It's been 6 months since we tried to take him to a movie, he's still not ready. 

I'm upset because I love the Chipmucks.  What I saw of it was really cute.  Keira loved it. 

And today is the last day of 2009.  I can't believe it, I remember spending New Years Eve 1999 in Dixie County with my best buddy Lara at a party in the woods.  Wow, such a long time ago.  I was a baby, only 18. 

I hope everyone has a nice and safe night tonight.  We're going to hang with the inlaws, play board games and watch movies probably. 

As for resolutions, I'm making one, just to be heathier.  I've kept mine the last 2 years, so that has been wonderful.  I'm not going to promise anything, ok, I will promise I'm not going to gain anymore weight this year.

It's Complicated

What an awesome movie!  Seriously one of the funniest movies I've seen in years.  It was an awesome romantic comedy.  Alec Baldwin & Steve Martin are so funny.  John Krasinski I think is a major scene stealer.  He was seriously funny, makes me want to start watching the Office. 

Anyhow, if you can pick a movie to go to right now, go see this one.  You won't be sorry.  I want to go see it again.  That's how much I loved it.

 

Up in The Air

Today Sean went out to lunch at Red Lobster and went to see Up in the Air with George Clooney.

I love George Clooney, doesn't matter what he's in, always perfect.  Good movie, I didn't care much for the ending, but I see what its getting all the Oscar buzz. 

We're planning on seeing the new Alvin & the Chipmunks, Sherlock Holmes this week I hope, and I'm planning on going with Pat to see It's Complicated, or go by myself.  I don't care either way.

The Princess and the Frog

On Monday Keira, Jessi, Pat, and I all went to see The Princess & the Frog.  I'm a huge Disney Fan and I think I probably love the Disney Princesses more than Keira.  It was such a great movie, totally classic Disney, this is the first time in a few years since they've done a hand drawn cartoon. 

It'll fit in perfect with The Little Mermaid, Beauty & The Beast, & all of the others.  Really, the songs are great, its funny.  I loved the lighting bug and gator. 

You've gotta take your kids to see it.  Keira loved it.
 

Busy, oh so busy

Seems like this is how a lot of my posts have been starting lately. 

Well, I am busy, we're trying to move into the house that Sean's grandparents are letting us live in until we find something to buy.  We bought groceries today and I think by Monday night we'll be staying there, of course that means no cable or internet, but I'm working on getting at least internet, we can deal without tv. 

I thought we had good news, we applied for a VA loan yesterday and got approved online, but then I had a voice mail this morning saying it wasn't correct.

They can't use my unemployment wages toward the loan, which means we don't qualify on what Sean makes part time.  Which totally sucks, because we found an awesome house, super cheap too.  But we're going to still go see if there is another option, if not, we'll just wait 6 months to a year. 

Keira and I went to see Ice Age, yesterday in 3D.  FYI, if you didn't know this, 3D movies cost more, like I paid $22 for us to see a movie at 11:45 am. 

 

It was a cute movie, I haven't seen the other 2, so I felt kind of lost.  I am not a fan of 3D though, Keira didn't like wearing the glasses and neither did I to be honest. 

On Monday Sean and I went to GI Joe, I really liked it. 

 

It was a total action movie, but I love Channing Tatum, so I couldn't complain.  I'm sure they'll have another one and I'm excited to see it. 

So, back to the busy thing, tomorrow we have a birthday party to go to, on Sunday we have a big family party to go to and after that we have the AC/DC concert, and a night alone in a hotel!  YAY!!

Next weekend we have Pat's birthday on Saturday and I'm pretty sure we're not doing anything on Sunday. 

And the weekend after that is my Sister-In-Law's Wedding, so we have the rehearsal dinner on Friday and Wedding on Saturday, and I also have my first class on Saturday.  I'm only going to be able to go for a little while and leave to be home in time to get Keira ready for the wedding. 

So, busy busy!

Busy Weekend

On Friday an old friend of mine and Sean's stopped by on her way to Ohio.  I hadn't seen Vanessa is 7 years, we met in Tech School way back in 1999, and were stationed together in Japan as well as our training.  She was probably my best friend in Japan, so it was really awesome to see her.

It was like we hadn't been apart at all. We had a great time and I'm hoping to see her again while she's in Ohio, before she heads off to Korea for 3 years.

We went to dinner and to see the Ugly Truth.

So funny, then again I love a good chick flick.

This is me and Vanessa.  I spent the night with her and we just talked and drank and had a good time.

Then on Saturday we had a family reunion to go to, it was fun, didn't really know anyone, but Keira had a great time swimming and there was good food.  I'm always up for good food.  LOL!

Then on Sunday was my Sister-In-Law's Bridal shower.

I think it turned out really nice and Jessi got a lot of great stuff.

Dinner and a Movie (AT NIGHT TIME)

That's a crazy concept right, we haven't been to dinner and a movie at night since I was 9 months pregnant with Cooper.

Sean and I went to the Melting Pot last night, really nice.  Something you wouldn't be able to afford often, but it was really nice, we dressed up.  The food was wonderful!  Gave me a greater respect for Fondue, I really want an electric fondue pot now. 

We had a Spinach & Artichoke Cheese Fondue, our meats where Lobster, steak, shrimp, pork, and chicken, with broccoli and mushrooms.  So good, you cook the meat in a broth or oil, we had a broth.  YUM!!  Then for our Chocolate was a Flaming Turtle.  Milk chocolate, caramel, and peacans lit on fire table side.  We had strawberries, pound cake, brownies, rice crispies threats, cheese cake, bananas all to dip.  So good, I can't say enough good things about it.  So, if you can afford to go, go at least once.

 

Then we messed around Ann Arbor for awhile and then went to see the Proposal, very funny!  It was probably the best romantic comedy I've seen in years, seriously.  Betty White, too funny!  Ryan Reynolds, I love him and Sandra Bullock is one of my favorite actresses.  Sean loved it too, it was just a really great movie.  So much better than The Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, the last chick flick we saw.
