Happy Halloween

Hope everyone had a great Halloween.  We did, busy all day.

The kids had pumpkin & ghost shaped pancakes for breakfast, decorated sugar cookies, and for dinner we had sloppy joes with Jack o lantern cheese on them at Keira's request.  I made the dip for the chips orange and made my Frankenstine cake.  Sean's parents came over for dinner and trick or treating.

 

 

 

 
 
 

 

 

 

Both of the kids did really good.  Cooper held his bucket and it was getting heavy, so I tried to take it so I could pour some of the candy out, bad idea.  He was pissed.  Kept yelling "MINE" at me really loudly.  So funny.  

When we got home the kids went through their stash, picked some pieces and left the rest outside for the "Halloween Witch" to come and get.  She left them each a Halloween book, movie & a small toy.  Keira got a vampire Kelly doll and Cooper got a truck.

Long Weekend Up North

Northern Michigan that is.  We went to stay at the inlaws place with them this weekend.  They share it with one of Sean's uncles, its out in the woods, really nice, quiet, well, as quiet as you can expect with 2 kids.  It was a nice trip, the only bad thing was Keira was sick on Saturday and my mother-in-law also was sick, so it could have turned out better.  I was totally stressed on Saturday, with all this swine flu crap going around, Keira was running a fever, so I was so worried, but she's better now, just a little stuffy.

I did get some pictures, I shot in Raw for the first time this weekend, I can't wait for my teacher to explain more about it tomorrow at school.

The Most Amazing thing happened today

I got home from school, got on the computer and right there in front of me it said Garth Brooks is coming out of retirement!  I had to take a double take, I couldn't believe my eyes, of course his is only doing shows in Las Vegas, but that's something and I'm going to try my damnest to get tickets.  I know, it'll cost a pretty penny to fly to Vegas, but hey, Sean's always wanted to go and we need a vacation just for the 2 of us.  I honestly doubt that I'll be able to get tickets, they go on sale next Saturday.  But if I do, that'll be the most awesome Christmas present ever.  LOL!

I seriously started crying when I read that, I love him more than most people I know.  I've always hoped he would tour again so I could see him, so if I don't get a chance to see him in Vegas, hopefully he'll do a US tour in a few years.   

ACDsee Categories

I had someone ask me the other day about ACDsee and the categories I use.  So, I just thought I'd post the category list so if anyone ever needs them, or wants them, they're here.

 

 

I am a huge ACDsee fan, I use it every time I scrap, I couldn't scrap without it and I love that ACDsee 2009 has the extract all feature, so I can extract everything I download all at once.  Its wonderful!

Pumpkin Cranberry Bread

 

Ingredients

• 3 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 tablespoon plus 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
• 2 teaspoons baking soda
• 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
• 3 cups granulated sugar
• 1 can (15 ounces) Pure Pumpkin (Libby's)
• 4 large eggs
• 1 cup vegetable oil
• 1/2 cup orange juice or water
• 1 cup sweetened dried cranberries

Directions

PREHEAT oven to 350° F. Grease and flour two 9 x 5-inch loaf pans.

COMBINE flour, pumpkin pie spice, baking soda and salt in large bowl. Combine sugar, pumpkin, eggs, oil and juice in large mixer bowl; beat until just blended. Add pumpkin mixture to flour mixture; stir just until moistened. Fold in cranberries. Spoon batter into prepared loaf pans.

BAKE for 60 to 65 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pans on wire racks for 10 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.

Recipe makes two loaves.

FOR THREE 8 x 4-INCH LOAF PANS:
PREPARE as above. Bake for 55 to 60 minutes.

FOR FIVE OR SIX 5 x 3-INCH MINI-LOAF PANS:
PREPARE as above. Bake for 50 to 55 minutes.

 

Our Car was broken into

We had to go to downtown Detroit today to the VA office.  We were there for 1 hour and our car got the passenger window smashed in and they stole our GPS.  I guess things could have been worse.

The crappy thing is that was my first trip to Detroit and will be my last.  The kids were with us, we had to drive back in the rain with no front passenger window.  At one point I pulled a piece of glass out of my mouth driving back. 

What a freakin' super day!
