Well, I didn't keep up with Christmas, but Keira is getting a Wish from Make a Wish!!

First, I did my best to keep up with blogging through Christmas, but it didn't work.  LOL!  Between activities and Keira's last round of chemo, I just couple keep up.  But I will try to post some pictures or scrapbook pages of Skippy for anyone looking for ideas.

Second, back in August Keira was referred for a Wish from the Make a Wish foundation.  We've been working through the process and we got the word yesterday that our trip dates had been confirmed.  

We will be spending 7 days & 6 nights at Give Kids the World in Orlando.  Keira's wish was to go to Disney World and meet the princesses, and that's just what we're doing.  If you're wondering what Give Kids the World is, visit their site, it looks like a pretty amazing place.  Non profit, for families like ours that have a had child facing a life threatening disorder.  (FYI, it doesn't not have to be terminal, which was always my belief)  

We'll be visiting Disney World (all 4 parks), as well as Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure and Sea World.  Sean & I are pretty excited about the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at IOA, but the kids won't care, they're too young.  

And I had to make a countdown calendar for the kids to keep track of how many days until our trip.  

This was super simple, craft wood, scrapbook paper, ribbon, little chalk board tag, and a sticker letters & the Disney Vacation Sticker, oh and Modge Podge. 

I actually was going to do it hybrid, because digital scrapbooking is my strong point, but my printer isn't working at the moment.  It's not perfect, but it serves its purpose.

Wow, Christmas will be here soon.  Some sad news first, Sean grandma passed away yesterday evening.  She was 85, had 8 children, 24 grandchildren & 23 great-grandchildren.  She was a wonderful lady.  She gave Sean & I a house to live in while we got on our feet after leaving the Air Force.  She will be missed! 

Sorry I haven't been posting pictures of the activities, maybe I'll try and get them posted this week sometime.  Since my last post we've done Snowman Spool Ornaments,  Salt Dough Ornaments, Felt Christmas Tree Fun, Sleepover at Grandma & Grandpa's house, Baking for the Neighbors, &  pinecone trees.  

And Skippy has been busy too.

Day 10, 11, 12 & Skippy

The last few days have been very busy.  

Saturday our activity was decorating sugar cones to look like trees to go with out Gingerbread house.  Before that Keira, myself & her friend Brianna went to see the Nutcracker Ballet & Sean took Cooper & his dad bowling.  

Sunday we went to see Santa, Arthur Christmas & let the kids do their shopping for us.

Yesterday they got new Christmas books since I had class yesterday.  

And Mr. Skippy has been busy.  

Sunday morning he brought the kids a new Christmas DVD and stayed up all night watching it with some popcorn & pepsi.

Monday morning he was finishing for goldfish.

This morning he was in the Christmas tree, he thought it would be funny to toliet paper our tree.

Day 7, 8, 9 plus Skippy

Skippy was taking a little nap in Keira's barbie doll bed yesterday morning. The kids thought it was so funny.  Keira talked about it all day.  

This morning Skippy had made some pretty pictures on the kids pictures.

 

Our activity on day 7 was Elf Ornaments.

Yesterday we had a Gingerbread House Decorating Party at my friend's house.  It was so great, we had 15 kids there.  I think it'll be an annual event.

And today we went to the Family Dollar and the kids picked out some toys for toys for tots to donate.  They really enjoyed it.  And then I went to my mother-in-law's for our 3rd Annual Cookie exchange, so much fun!  

 

Day 6 Activity & Skippy

Yesterday we found Skippy trying to get in the cereal.  

And we made Snow Globes last night after we got home from chemo.

I bought Christmas village characters to go inside, white glitter & the snow globes came from Michael's.  We also added Liquid Glycerin to the water, it helps the glitter fall slower.  But, keep in mind if you get it at the pharmacy, its a suppository.  LOL!  Sean was not happy with me when he figured it out.  :)  But I have seen online that they sell it at craft stores too.

This morning Skippy was reading Christmas books. 

Day 5 Advent Activity & Skippy

This week is the beginning of an extremly busy week for us.  I have class today from noon-10pm, Keira starts 5 days of chemo, I also have class Wednesday, Sean has class 2 days this week.  Thursday the kids are having a Gingerbread House decorating party at a friend's house, Friday I'm going to our 3rd Annual Cookie Exchange at my mother-in-law's house, and then Saturday Keira, my mother-in-law & myself are going to see the Nutcracker & the boys are going to go bowling.  

Then Sunday we're sleep, LOL! 

Since Keira is suppose to start chemo today & I have class their activity was new Christmas coloring books.  Keira took hers with her & Cooper is in the kitchen coloring.

And Skippy built a snowman out of Marshmallows.  :)

I will try to keep updating everything this week, but if I miss a day I'll do my best to catch up this weekend.  

Day 4 Activity

Today we changed our plans, we were all pretty worn out so we decided to save visiting the great-grandparents for another day & had family game night.  

We also did the kids Christmas pictures this morning, along with my nephew Sennett and another friend of mine's little girl.  

The weather has been pretty blah, so we just enjoyed the day staying at home in our pj's and playing games.  It was a nice day.  Relaxing!  

Day 3 Activity & Skippy

Today we had a Hot Chocolate Bar & watched Home Alone. The kids loved the movie, it was the first time they'd seen it.  And The Hot Chocolate bar was a huge hit.  They loved adding their own goodies to their cocoa.  

And since Skippy is in the basement tonight, I'll go ahead and post a photo of what he's doing.  

I just bought Keira & Cooper both 3 new pairs of pj's from the Disney store, they've been having really good sales on their pajamas and I really love them.  Cooper is in desperate need of some with long sleeves & pants.  So I took some fleece from the Christmas tie blanket I just made and fashioned Skippy some pj's out of the leftovers, he's wearing those and he "sewed" the new ones for the kids.  I liked that idea better than holding them until Christmas.

Skippy brought breakfast from the North Pole. A donut with way too many sprinkles, snowman bagels, and Christmas Crunch. Please ignore my wrinkled table runner, I think I'm going to have to get a new one.  I washed it and I can't iron all the wrinkles out.
